We Were Evergreen –  Baby Blue

LABEL: We Were Evergreen Records

FORMAT: Single

GENRE: Pop – Folk

DATE: 04/06/12

Armed with an electronic toy box of instruments and coated in layers of indelible charm, We Were Evergreen are a bright, witty and fiercely talented pop group who might just make your year.

Born on the first day of 2008 (one of the few new year’s resolutions ever to stick), the trio (Michael Liot, Fabienne Debarre and William Serfass) embody a youthful energy; yet as playful and sweet as their music might be, the tracks are sophisticated, highly intelligent and years beyond their collective age.

A perfect example of the band’s excitable, playful attitudes, “Baby Blue”’s three piece harmonies intertwine with toy piano, a cheerful horn section and some glitchy electronics that say, in case you didn’t believe them already, “we mean business”.

You can catch them live next at LeeFest and Winterwell Festivals at the end of June – they will also be playing Nova Festival, Secret Garden Party, Deershed Festival and Camp Bestival in July.

“Wide-eyed trio We Were Evergreen possess such child-like wonderment and infectious joie de vivre that they could comfortably out-twee even the most gingham-clad, cupcake-making, floral dress-wearing, poetry-writing Belle and Sebastian fan you could possibly find on these shores… An utterly joyous live experience.” The Fly
