Believe A&R Top Picks

These are our label A&R’s top acts to go see, if you’re at CMJ this week.

Tall Ships (Pink Mist)

Will says:  I came accross them when they supported Three Trapped Tigers. This band and are going beyond the confines of math-rock to actually write great songs. Big potential and Great EP.

Will says:  Loved the album they released this year ‘Stay kids’.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra

Will says:   They played a great show in London earlier this year and should have a great 2012.

Will says:  Ninja tune’s next big thing, truly original hip-hop working with Joe Goddard, Kwes and Micachu.

Iggy Azalea

Will says:  Australian Female MC, “The Catwoman of Rap”…  makes Kreayshawn look like Daphne & Celeste.

Savoir Adore

Will says:  Lush indie-pop with infectious beats.

Lisa Hannigan

Will says:  Irish singer-songwriter with a beautiful voice – do not miss.

Cubic Zirconia

Will says: I saw them earlier this year and they were heavy! Relentless beats fronted by the captivating Tiombe Lockhart. She’s a real star, but also very humble.

Active Child

Will says:  Sun glitters, ocean of lush melodies, pitch-shifted vocal samples, ghostly digi-diva choirs, warm bass melodies driven by alternately dense and relaxing beatwork combinations… Listen to ‘Hanging On’ – this track is making waves all over the world.
