Michigan three piece Cheap Girls release their new album and first signed to Xtra Mile Recordings (Against Me!, Frank Turner, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah).

Release: Lucid EP
Label: Mania Records
South East London native Syron (aka 21-year old Daisy Russell) releases her new EP Lucid. Led by the glittering Colour Me In – this EP showcases Syron’s contemporary dance-floor club signature. The EP also includes Three Dreams, which tingles with hands-in-the-air production and laid-back vocals from producer duo Horror Stories. The EP tracks get their own re-working via remixes from dark noir disco Londoner Mokadem, Southampton-based The Dealer and the mysterious Ten Ven.
Syron first burst onto the scene with Rudimental’s chart topping Spoons feature alongside MNEK; Defected releases with Tensnake and Solo; and her debut EP Breaking via Black Butter Records. She has since effortlessly displayed her ability to fuse R&B melodies and 90s-tinged pop.

Release: Brownswood Electric 4
Label: Brownswood Recordings
From Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood imprint comes the latest ‘Brownswood Electric 4′ compilation. It features exclusive music from a new crop of up and comers. Some like Frenchman Nikitch and Belgian wunderkind LTGL are fresh out of the blocks, whilst the likes of Deft, Adam Elemental, Glenn Astro, D Tiberio and B Lewis have cultivated relative online infamy in recent times, each carving out their own unique path and singular artistry. As usual it runs the full gamut of styles, skipping from searing hypercolour hip-hop / bass hybrids; through ever so slightly wonky deep house; furious footworkin’ D&B that recalls vintage Metalheadz cuts circa ’96 (but somehow sounds steadfastly futuristic); awesomely drunken RnB; wrecking ball 808-driven bangerz; and introspective emo bumps… It’s a cluttered, chaotic, hyperactive kaleidoscopic trip.
