Fyfe is the immersive new solo project from 23-year-old Paul Dixon. Debut track ‘Solace’ caused a genuine stir across blogs when it premiered last month: without a manager, a plugger or a label, ‘Solace’ nonetheless reached number 1 on Hype Machine, amassed 100,000 plays in a month and has already been picked up by the likes of NME, XFM and Huw Stephens, Rob Da Bank and Phil & Alice on Radio 1. The second track from Fyfe, the epic ‘St Tropez’, has connected even quicker, with 100,000 plays in just over a week.

Following the success of the Record Store Day collaboration with the legendary Fashion Records, NICE UP! return with another 2 classic cuts from the vaults – remixed and refashioned for 2013! First up, East London’s Wrongtom takes time out of his packed schedule to rework the massive “Incredible” by General Levy. Over on the flip, rising star of the reggae world Mr Benn gives his spin on the modern dancehall sound with a dancefloor pleasing remix of Cutty Ranks “As You See It”. This release will form part of a full album of remixes from the Fashion back catalogue, expected later in the year.

Emperor Yes return with their second single, Cosmos. Following on from their debut, which was lauded by the likes of Pitchfork, This is Fake DIY and The 405, the psych-pop outfit deliver an out-and-out intergalactic anthem with this track – think Flaming Lips meets Flash Gordon; it’s nothing but fist and wrist. Emperor Yes were on tour with Tall Ships on their UK tour at the end of last month, finishing up with a huge date at Scala. ‘Cosmos’ has received support from The Guardian and Zane Lowe (Radio 1),  amongst others.
