Artist: Black Books

Stunning EP leading to an album later in the year. Black Books are a 5-piece band from Austin, Texas who make a heady, atmospheric mix of dreamy, visionary pop and epic southern rock. The ‘Aquarena EP’ evokes a plethora of emotions with its haze of sprawling, mesmerising psychedelia and sun-soaked melodies blended with something huge and anthemic – and all charged with Ross Gilfillan’s warm throaty drawl of a vocal.  Comparisons have been made with the likes of Band of Horses, Grandaddy and My Morning Jacket.
