Screaming Soul – Ghost Inna Dub
LABEL: Emerging Species
GENRE: Dance – Dub
“Ghost Inna Dub” is the sophomore album from Screaming Soul; a collaboration between MC/Producer Lucid Mover and Reggae singer Ghetto Priest. This Emerging Species release is a sequel to their debut “Ghost in a Shell”, released in August 2011.
“Ghost Inna Dub” features Dub remixes by genre pioneer Adrian Sherwood of On-U Sound and his protege Nick ‘Mutant Hi-Fi’ Coplowe (Prince Fatty/Hollie Cook/Battle For Seattle), two legends in their own rights who have brought a completely new twist to the group’s music.
Sherwood’s mixes were both recorded as live single-takes at On-U Sound studio in the traditional King Tubby style, but Coplowe chose to take a radically different approach at his Ironworks studio, completely changing the songs from their original format.

Laps – Joyful Process
LABEL: Cadenza Records
GENRE: Dance – House – Tech / Minimal
RELEASE DATE: 12/3/2012
One of Cadenza’s most valued and long term artists returns to the Swiss imprint to disclose another quality and sonically strong output. Emerging in 2007, Laurent Bovey (one half of Digitaline) under his Laps moniker stood tall with two outstanding solo releases on Hamburg’s Smallville and Seuil’s Eklo imprint. The beginning of 2012 also saw Cadenza’s sibling label Cadenza Lab privilege to the work of Laps with his “Smokey” EP. Now Laps returns to present Cadenza 75 “Joyful Process”.
Remaining ever relevant in today’s challenging electronic spectrum, Laps’ organic and intricate expressions through sound are a fine attribute to Cadenza’s catalogue. The title track “Joyful Process” takes us on a startling trip through Laps’ well-crafted home of the dance floor. The archetypal piece of material to fuel an already frenzied atmosphere, “Joyful Process”’s relentlessly stampeding demeanour and hypnotic loopiness slot effortlessly into every early morning DJ’s playlist.
On the flip, Laps delves deep into the soundtrack of a concrete jungle with the atmospheric and vision conjuring “This Broken Heart”. Manipulating a concoction of sound bites that create tension and intrigue; dripping water, blaring horns and creeping footsteps are so vivid you can almost reach out and touch them. Riding its thundering ride through animated house, a choppy vocal hook arrives to inject the killer dose of funk.
Sonnyjim – The Greatest Sin
LABEL: Eatgood Records
GENRE: Hip Hop
RELEASE DATE: 12/03/2012
Back in 2007 A.G was in the UK during a European tour, and Sonnyjim went down to London and took him to Chemo’s studio in Brixton. This song was originally intended for the Trading Standards mix CD back in 08, but for whatever reason it didn’t make the final cut. Later on, Sonnyjim found the files, fixed the tune up and got some cuts thrown on courtesy of DJ Roast, and this resulted in “The Greatest Sin” being released.
The track is reminiscent of Sonnyjim and Chemo’s old style from 2007, showcasing hip hop at its finest.
